Lot 1: SWIFT Heavy Duty Swing 72" x 36ft Between Centres Twin Saddle Centre Lathe with Boring Attachment

SWIFT HEAVY DUTY LATHE. Swing 72" x 36ft Between Centres. Twin Saddle SS & SC Centre Lathe.  Fitted with 72” dia. Faceplate with Heavy Duty Chuck Jaws. Width of Bed 48”. Spindle speeds 0.6-60 rpm. Twin Saddles. Powered Compound Slides (swivelling) on Both Saddles. Spindle bore 5.5/8”. Distance between centres 36 feet. Swing over cross slide 70”. 2 x Large 3 Point Roller Steadies 53” dia. capacity. 1 x 3 Point Roller Steady 34” dia. capacity. Bed mounted roller support steady. Boring bar adaptor which clamps to its own carriage driven by a centre leadscrew running in the centre of the 2 x bed shears. This adaptor is complete with a 16” dia. boring bar with a boring depth of 13’8” (this could be increased if the 8’3” portion which is housed and keyed into the boring bar holder is extended more from the holder) see photos. Boring Feeds 0.1-6” per minute. Bed splits as follows: Headstock & First Bed Section 27’8” long Connecting Bed section 25’6” long.

The machine in order to service a recent contract has had 3.5” packing pieces put under the headstock & tailstock to give approximately 78.3/4” swing over the cross slides. (see photos).
